Rubber Lined Hose Clamps
Rubber Lined Hose Clamps, also commonly known as cushioned clamps or insulated clamps, are designed to provide secure fastening while offering essential protection, insulation, and vibration dampening for the hoses, cables, pipes, or tubes they secure. These clamps feature a protective rubber or elastomer lining on the interior surface of the band, which prevents direct metal-to-surface contact.
The soft, yet durable, rubber lining serves multiple critical functions. It protects the outer surface of the clamped item from abrasion, crushing, and galvanic corrosion, particularly when securing sensitive materials like rubber or plastic hoses and electrical cables. The lining also provides a degree of vibration dampening, reducing noise and preventing the clamp from shifting under dynamic conditions. Furthermore, the rubber can offer some level of insulation, making these clamps suitable for applications where temperature isolation is a minor consideration.
Typically constructed from metal, such as stainless steel or galvanized steel, for strength and corrosion resistance, and lined with various rubber compounds like EPDM, these clamps are widely used across industries including automotive, marine, aerospace, HVAC, and industrial manufacturing for securing wiring harnesses, fuel lines, hydraulic hoses, and tubing.
